Evolution of my twists

So, I know I just gave a snippet of my current routine and resulting scrumptious twist out, but I had a moment where I looked back through my old fotki and thought about all my old twists, braids, twist outs and braid outs over the past three years.

Wow…I’ve come a LONG WAY!!!

  1. So I have a weird question- do you love your hair in twists (or other protective hairstyles)? Or do you do them because you know its good for your hair?
I am struggling because I prefer my hair to be loose but I know that I really need to keep my hair in protective hairstyles (and right now my hair is only long enough for twists/braids- not buns or anything like that). Your hair is beautiful so when I see your hair loose (then see all the pics of your hair twisted or braided in your fotki album) I see what I need to do if I want to see the kind of length you have. I guess I just get bored….
Sorry- maybe I need my own blogspot so I don’t talk up yours! LOL!!!

    1. Hey LMC, I actually dedicated a post to you 🙂

It was a long time coming, but I do now enjoy my hair in twists. I think the key is experimentation with the protective styles the same way you experiment with your loose hair. In the beginning, I wasn’t a fan though. But over time, I’ve grown to love them truly!

  2. Thanks for this. I need inspiration. I’ve been completely natural for just 4months. Sometimes I desperately want my hair to be long! This gives me hope. I just need to be patient.

    1. If I could bottle up patience and sell it, I’d be a rich chica. It’s probably one of the few things that just about everybody wants more of. I have found, if you’re like me and lack a prime level of patience, having a strong, solid support system is the next best thing. Without my husband, there is no way I would be where I am. Find thee a strong supporter…so that when your hope and patience aren’t as high as you’d like, the know how to kick it back in gear 🙂

    2. Oooh, 4 months! Still have hand-in-hair disease?? Come to think of it, I might still have that sickness after all these years! Good luck to you and feel free to keep dropping in. And let me know if you have any questions. If I don’t have an answer, I’m sure I know someone who will!!
